Hilton Brighton Metropole’s sustainability journey

As part of Hilton’s 2030 Goals, Hilton Brighton Metropole has committed to a series of initiatives to operate sustainably and ensure that travel and tourism remains a vibrant source of economic opportunity for all in our local community. The main objectives of these goals is to cut environmental footprint in half whist doubling the brands social impact.

The Hilton Brighton Metropole are taking steps in the right direction to help achieve these global brand goals.

They are aware that lots of brands and companies are also looking to become more sustainable, so they are offering Meet with Purpose – a Hilton initiative that helps make your next meeting carbon neutral at no extra cost. They calculate the carbon footprint of any meeting or event held on property, including water, waste and energy using their Light Stay Platform.

The carbon produced is then offset and converted into credits which are allocated towards carbon reduction projects with their partner South Pole.

Alongside the Light Stay Platform, the Hilton Brighton Metropole have created low carbon footprint menus which focus on zero waste and local sourced produce.

As well as containing an array of vegetarian and vegan options, the Hilton Brighton Metropole has also just recently partnered with English Wine Producer, Highweald Wine Estate located in the Sussex country side by adding a local & sustainable English wine to their wine list for the very first time.

Hotel Manager on beach cleaning and working with charities

Rekha Sohun, General Manager, said: “Brighton is a close knit community city and we sit right in the heart of it, working with local charities throughout the year.” Recently the hotel took part in the Rockinghorse Charity Big Brighton Beach Clean where their team members collected 68.1lbs of rubbish from the Brighton seafront.

Rekha continued: “Every month our wonderful team members carry out their own beach clean to ensure that the beach is clean and safe for our wonderful guests and members of the community to enjoy.”

The hotel is proud of steps they are taking to become more sustainable on local and global levels. Contact [email protected] to find out more about their Meet with Purpose and sustainable menu options.
