West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board meeting

Residents of West Sussex can put their questions to the county’s health leaders ahead of the next meeting of the West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board which will take place this Thursday, 7th July. The Health and Wellbeing Board works to improve the health and wellbeing of West Sussex residents and reduce inequalities.

The meeting agenda includes a public forum during which people will be able to direct questions to the Board, which includes representatives from the county council, district and borough councils, the NHS, acute, community and mental health trusts, the voluntary and community sector, and Healthwatch West Sussex.

County Councillor on the Board meeting

Councillor Bob Lanzer, the County Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing is Chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board. He said: “This is a perfect opportunity for people to put their questions directly to elected councillors and key systems leaders across the local health and social care system about local health and wellbeing needs.

“Questions must be submitted in advance, but people have the option of attending in person to read out their question or can choose not to attend and I will put the question to the Board on their behalf. I know how important local health services are to people, and the public forum is one of the best ways that residents can let us know about the needs in their local community.”

Questions and items on the agenda for the meeting

Questions for the Board can be submitted in advance by calling Erica Keegan, Democratic Services Officer, on 0330 222 6050 or emailing [email protected].

Other items included on the agenda for the forthcoming meeting are updates on behalf of the West Sussex Covid-19 Local Outbreak Engagement Board and the Children First Board. There will also be an update from the independent chair of the West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Boards, who will present a report which outlines the plans in place to progress new objectives during the coming years.

The full West Sussex Health & Wellbeing Board agenda is available on the county council’s website, where you will also be able to watch a live video stream from the meeting from 10.30am on 7th July.
