Talk examining Christian reactions to Murdoch in the 1900’s

Talk with Dr Peter Webster on the topic of Iris and the Christians: What did the British Churches make of Iris Murdoch, 1954-1983

Iris Murdoch is rightly regarded as a religious novelist, of a certain kind. But what about the other side of the relationship: what did Christian readers in England make of her? This lecture examines Christian reactions to Murdoch, as both philosopher and novelist.

Dr Peter Webster is an independent scholar of contemporary religious history, with a particular interest in the religious arts.
