John Micklewright gives an illustrated talk on his book “The Opening Country” (2021) evokes the landscape, history and literature of France and draws on the diaries of his father going back to the 1930’s. John is Emeritus Professor of Economics and Statistics at University College London and has now turned to travel writing.
