Start time: 19:30 The Discovery of Insulin with The Midhurst Society’s Annual General Meeting The society’s next talk at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th June at the South Downs Memorial Hall in North Street, Midhurst GU29 9DH. That meeting will be their Annual General Meeting, followed by a talk about how in 1923 Canadian scientist Sir Frederick Banting battled against the odds to discover insulin, the life-saving drug which saved the lives of millions. Speaker is Dr Ian Goodall, the retired headteacher of a large comprehensive school and teacher of A-level Biology. Entry is free for members and £3 for visitors. Drinks are available in the interval. Midhurst Society publications will be offered for sale.
