Start time: 10:00 The Arts Society hosts a talk on British architectural styles during the period of the Empire in India – presented by Prasannajit de Silva A look at the architectural styles adopted by the British during the period of the Empire in India for public and private buildings, a talk presented by Prasannajit de Silva. Ranging from the neo-classical and Gothic revival to the Indo-Saracenic and the Art Deco. Examples from Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and elsewhere, they will also consider what the approaches tell us about British attitudes to the imperial project.
