Jeremy Prescott will give a Midhurst u3a talk, via zoom, at 2:30pm. Free for all.

Event Information

Jeremy Prescott subject will be “For Valour: The story of the Victoria Cross”.

He will cover: the award’s origins and criteria, the making of the medal, stories of some VC recipients, how VC awards are commemorated and Lord Ashcroft’s collection at the Imperial War Museum.

Jeremy served 27 years in the infantry, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with active service in Northern Ireland and Oman. He also served in Germany, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Norway. With 18 years as Chief Executive of a rural affairs charity in the Midlands, he is now retired and living in Southsea.
