Event Date:
Start time: 14:30 Learn about Anne of Cleves, a much maligned queen and what she did during & after her marriage After an extraordinary six months of marriage to Henry VIII, this German princess preferred to live a quiet life, earning part of her income from her Sussex manors. She continued to have connections with some major figures of the time, so the talk aims to see her in the context of a very vibrant and interesting period. Helen Poole trained as a museum curator, working in Sussex museums and heritage sites since 1991. She shares her enthusiasm for history and archeology through talks and books. One of these sites, Anne of Cleves House in Lewes has enabled her to pursue her interest in the Tudor period.
