Drowntown tour comes to Worthing

Double National Dance Awards nominated Rhiannon Faith Company’s new show holds a tender and honest mirror to a society at tipping point. The Stage said the show was ‘stark, brave and uncompromising reaches towards hope, gentleness and light’.

It’s 2023 tour includes a date on Saturday 27th May at Worthing Connaught Theatre.

In the show six strangers, weighed down by individual darkness, come to a deprived coastal land. Seemingly abandoned, there is no one to help but themselves. Stuck between the remains of a broken community and the vast bleakness of the sea, they struggle with isolation, shame and failed support systems.

Drowntown continues the vein of gritty dance-theatre from this radical choreographer. he show uses autobiographical testimonials and text to give voice to the vulnerable and unheard in modern Britain’s areas of social deprivation. n a four star review The Reviews Hub described it as ‘Rich, compelling, intriguing, and frequently beautiful’.
