Men’s Breakfast in Immanuel Church with speaker Colin Chambers

Breakfasts sponsored by Immanuel Church providing an opportunity, open to all men, to join for fellowship while you have breakfast and listen to an interesting speaker.

Feel free to invite friends, family members or neighbours. This month Colin Chambers who was chaplain to Nelson Mandela for eight years, supporting him and other inmates on Robben Island prison. The apartheid government would distribute fake photos to suggest the prisoners were well cared for.

Mandela said, “I know that if I don’t leave all my unforgiveness, resentment and bitterness behind when I walk through those gates, I will be walking out into another prison of my making.”

Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail under South Africa’s apartheid government, 18 years in the notorious ‘Robben Island’ prison before being released on 11th February 1990. He went on to become President of South Africa and one of the 20th Century’s most influential figures.
