Event Short Description

From city to sea on foot. New 70 mile walk launch from Carshalton to Brighton in 7 day stages

Event Information

A Walking Post original, this long distance trail stretches 70 miles from Carshalton all the way to Brighton. On the way it climbs over the North Downs, passing lavender fields, vineyards & woodland, down to rural Sussex, before climbing up the chalky South Downs to descend to the sea.

Creative route planners, the Walking Post, will officially launch their new seven-section London to Brighton route with a series of scenic walks over seven days in June and July 2024. The events, which are now available to book, follow the successful ‘weekend walkathon’ which marked the opening of their North to South London Trail in May this year.
Varying from 7.5 to 13 miles in length, the sections are as follows:

Stage 1: Saturday 29th June – Carshalton Beeches to Kingswood 7.5 miles
Stage 2: Sunday 30th June – Kingswood to Box Hill 8.7 miles
Stage 3: Monday 1st July – Box Hill to Ockley 11.7 miles
Stage 4: Friday 19th July – Ockley to Horsham 9.1 miles
Stage 5: Saturday 20th July – Horsham to Haywards Heath 13 miles
Stage 6: Sunday 21st July – Haywards Heath to Hassocks 10.5 miles
Stage 7: Monday 22nd July – Hassocks to Brighton 10.1 miles
