Event Short Description

A 3 day conference exploring the relationships between art, faith and the natural environment.

Event Information

To mark the completion of a major project to conserve the Bloomsbury Group murals at Berwick Church, Holy Ground explores how artists can contribute to the life of a church within a rural setting, with respect for the natural environment. Speakers will address the remarkable mural-paintings at Berwick and newly commissioned artists will speak about their work in response to the church and its paintings.

The event will also give opportunities to understand how art and faith are connected to the natural environment though acts such as pilgrimage. On Sunday we will walk the Cuckmere Pilgrim Path which begins and ends at Berwick Church and which will include creative and reflective practises led by a visual artist.
