Five Oaks Cottage has an unconventional garden, designed to encourage maximum wildlife with a knapweed and hogweed meadow on clay attracting clouds of butterflies in July, plus two small ponds and lots of seating. The acre of delicate jungle surrounds an Arts and Crafts style cottage (not open) and has views of the South Downs.

Admission is £5, children free. For this open day you need to prebook in advance on the NGS website bookings.ngs.org.uk

Five Oaks Cottage is open in aid of the National Garden Scheme. The NGS have donated over £63 million to nursing and health charities. Their core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
