Event Information

Exploring the World of Flowers in Music concert

The evening, directed by Peter Allwood, will include well known songs by early composers such as Morley, Wilbye and Byrd, then some more recent choral music by Elgar, Finzi, Vaughan Williams, Britten, Whitacre and Lauridsen.

The concert also features pianist Thomas Luke who was the keyboard finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2020. Thomas will be performing some of MacDowell’s Woodland Sketches together with music by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Debussy.

Audience members are invited before the concert to bring a picnic to enjoy in the beautiful gardens of Champs Hill (gardens open 5pm), before hearing the bouquet of florally inspired music starting at 7.30pm. The concert is supporting Perennial, a charity helping people in horticulture, and is sponsored by Fargo, Goodwood and Making Music.

This event is by kind permission of the Bowerman Charitable Trust. Pre-booked tickets only.
