A service of Choral Evensong in the special surroundings of St Mary’s Church, Sompting

Fr Felix Smith, Vicar of South Lancing and Sompting said “In the Church the day ends with an evening service of prayer and praise, using the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.

“This service is led by our amazing choir of about thirty who come together especially for our Evensong services. The choir sing responses, canticles, an anthem, and the psalms set for the day on our behalf, allowing us to experience the beauty of the music in this iconic setting. There are some readings from the Bible, and prayers are said for the Church, the World and ourselves.

“We hope lots of people will come along to hear our guest preacher, Rev Kathryn Flenley, and to join in this service in the tranquil beauty of our Saxon church”.
