Event Information

Bumblebee Identification Workshop

Did you know there are 24 species of bumblebee in the UK?

Discover the world of bumblebees by joining local ecologist, Emily Sabin on a workshop at Bishop’s Palace Garden. You will receive a free handout guide and will discuss their ecology, behaviour and lifecycle and hopefully spot plenty along the way.

Every workshop has six to eight attendees and is held in an informal, friendly atmosphere for the best learning experience. They use nets and pots to view the bees up close and you’ll test your knowledge.

This workshop is aimed at beginners wanting to learn the basic skills for ID as they will focus on more common species, through to more experienced spotters wishing to refresh their skills.
