Event Information

Steven Gregory’s new piece of public art

On Saturday 22nd April 2023, the Old Ambulance Station on Beeching Road, Bexhill is unveiling a new piece of public art in the grounds of the community arts hub.

An afternoon event will take place to mark the first public display on site of the monumental bronze sculpture entitled Excalibre 7.62 by South African artist Steven Gregory, who now lives locally in Hastings. Gregory will give a talk on the premises at 3.30pm to visitors.

Established in 2021, the workshop spaces have been purposefully re-designed to facilitate space for eleven artists, in a creative and collaborative working environment. The converted building, formerly an ambulance rest stop, was purchased in 2020 to provide local artists affordable rented workshops in East Sussex. As part of the arrangement, each artist gives one hour a week of volunteering

The event will be open to all between 3pm-5pm, is free to attend and will include light refreshments. Limited car parking will be available on site.
