Constable’s Treslove portraits rediscovered

This is the story of a recently discovered portrait of Emily Treslove, painted by Constable in 1726, along with a portrait of her husband Thomas Treslove QC. The portraits were rediscovered in 2019 and brought to Sarah for restoration.
Sarah is the leading authority on Constable’s materials and techniques. She has appeared in several TV programmes for the BBC, notably ‘Constable in Love’ and ‘Fake or Fortune’ where she was instrumental in the discovery of 3 ‘lost’ Constables.
