The 2018 Sussex International Piano Competition winner has played three Concertos with Worthing Symphony Orchestra. But this is his UK solo concert debut – the interviewing destined, at last, to uncover the person behind the magnetic face, beating heart and thrilling hands. Beethoven’s great ‘Waldstein’ Sonata, Chopin’s Scherzo No 3 in C# minor and two Opus 17 Mazurkas, plus Gershwin’s ‘Embraceable You’, join compelling forces with new German and Icelandic pieces – Ingrid Stölzel’s ‘In Foreign Lands’ and Gulli Björnsson’s ‘Ocean Surface’ (this its world premiere), alongside Yi-Yang Chen’s own ‘Twisted Paths’ and ‘Shrine Portrait’. And it’s set intimately In The Round, inside the Interview Concerts’ most beautiful venue.
