Start time: 10:00 A six-week course on the craft of writing a novel with author Susanna Jones in Brighton Over six Saturday morning sessions, Susanna Jones will look at aspects of writing a novel, including: getting started; developing ideas and characters; narrative voice and point of view; setting and atmosphere; storyline and shape. This is a mixed-level course with a max of 12 participants. Participants will have plenty of time to write, ask questions and try out new ideas, as well as having access to an online members’ area for optional extra ideas between sessions. For an add-on fee of £100, there is an option to have a 45-minute 1-1 session with Susanna for feedback on an extract of up to 5,000 words. Susanna Jones is the author of several novels, including When Nights Were Cold and The Earthquake Bird. Susanna was a lecturer in creative writing at the University of London for many years and now runs Pebble Beach Writing, a mentoring and tuition service for writers.
