Start time: 18:00 Special screening of ‘Sour Grapes’ at Depot with post-film spot-the-fake wine tasting and afterparty As part of WINELANDS Festival of English Wine in Lewes, 8-13 June 2026, don’t miss this highlight event for lovers of wine, crime, and film. Thursday 11 June / 6pm at Lewes Depot Cinema: Presented by director Jerry Rothwell, Sour Grapes is a documentary exploring how notorious wine fraudster Rudy Kurniwan befriended rich and powerful wine collectors to sell fake wine. After the screening there will be a wine tasting led by Lewes Master of Wine, Mike Best. Can you tell the difference between two wines in a blind tasting, one a genuine Burgundy from the famous Clos des Mouches vineyard in Côte de Beaune, the other a concoction of much less expensive wines designed to fool even the most experienced tasters into believing it is worth over £100 per bottle?! Put your palate to the ultimate test! Wines supplied by Symposium.
