In the 19th Century photography struggled for recognition as an artistic medium on a par with painting but it became the dominant visual medium of the early 20th century. This lecture considers a range of great images from the likes of Cartier-Bresson, Weegee and Robert Capa produced since 1900 showing us the world in novel and unexpected ways.
