Start time: 14:00 Come and enjoy Rosemary Alexander’s (founder of the English Gardening School) beautiful gardens. Come and enjoy Rosemary Alexander’s beautiful gardens in Rogate, West Sussex. The founder of the English Gardening School is opening her own private garden at Sandhill Farm House to the public this Saturday afternoon (18 July). Funds raised from the event will be for the benefit of the British Red Cross. The woodland garden is a feast for the eyes on a hot July day. The one-acre site dates to 1680, when it was a family home and farm. Now you can view a collection of rare plants and ferns and a mini stumpery — similar to a rockery, made from upturned tree stumps, logs, and bark. You can also explore the kitchen garden to the rear, herbaceous borders, a red border, a grasses border, and lawn. Homemade cakes and scones with teas and coffees on sale too. Ticket on the door.
