Event Short Description

Guided tours of an 18th century windmill, pumps and generator plus home-made cakes and shop.

Event Information

Come and visit us on one of our open afternoons. Enjoy a guided tour of the black post mill, built circa 1756, now fully restored and maintained by local volunteers, with wind pumps, hand pump and wind generator.

Push the mill around to face the wind. Try your hand at grinding wheat into flour with the hand quern. Watch amateur radio enthusiasts contacting other mills around the world with our call sign GB0HSM.

Enjoy a relaxing cup of tea with home-made cakes and buy a souvenir of your visit from our shop. Some disabled facilities available but please be aware that the mill is on a mound in a field with uneven ground and steps into the windmill.

Email us on enquiries@highsalvingtonmilltrust.co.uk if you have special needs or queries. Entrance £1 for adults, free for accompanied children, with tours £1.
