Our breakfasts are sponsored by Immanuel Church and provide an opportunity, open to all men, to join us for fellowship while you have breakfast (optional!) and listen to an interesting speaker. This month Captain Richard Meryon, former chief engineer on HMS Ark Royal, executive director of Christian Vision for Men, director of the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem and now working with refugees in the Middle East will join our virtual men’s breakfast. He won top awards as a naval student and went on to senior roles in naval engineering including chief engineer of HMS Ark Royal. In 1999 he left the Navy and joined Christian Vision for Men (CVM) as Executive Director. He later obtained a Diploma in Biblical Theology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and in 2006, Richard was appointed director of the UK charity that has administered the Garden Tomb since 1867. He currently does pioneering work among Christian Iraqi refugees in Jordan and also as the Middle East and has chaired the UK’s Military Christian Organisations and is currently a trustee of the E3 Partnership and Flame International.
