Start time: 14:30 Kate Bailey’s recently published story – Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser – explores Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland Continuing their association with the V&A, Petworth Festival welcomes Kate Bailey, Senior Curator of Design and Scenography in the Theatre and Performance Department. Kate recently published Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser, to accompany the V&A’s exhibition of the same name. Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland is a cultural phenomenon. First published in 1865, it has never been out of print and has been translated into 170 languages. With a new visualisation by illustrator Kristjana J Williams, Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser explores how Lewis Carroll’s Alice books have fuelled creative minds for over 150 Years – a journey whose scope ranges from art, literature, theatre and film through science and technology to fashion and politics, and ultimately asking whether we should all try to be more like Alice.
