Start time: 15:00 Jonathan Aitken will talk about a life that has not been short on incident – A Rollercoaster Ride Jonathan Aitken’s career has spanned the likes of journalism, business, politics, prison and the church. He was a Fleet Street journalist in the 1960’s writing Features and a War Correspondent in Vietnam, Africa and the Middle East. Jonathan was in the Cabinet as Chief Secretary to the Treasury and was previously Minister of State for Defence. In 1997 he served an eighteen-month prison sentence, and after his release he returned to Oxford University to study Theology. In 2018 he was ordained by the Bishop of London as an Anglican Priest and is now a Prison Chaplain at HMP Pentonville. The author of 18 books, Jonathan will talk about his rollercoaster of a life.
