Start time: 19:30 Featuring Nic Saunders Rhythm Earth Trio The Rhythm Earth Electric Trio is led by jazz pianist Nic Saunders, as an outlet for his eclectic and groove-based musical ideas. The group performs original pieces rooted in the ECM idiom, as well as inventive takes on well-known melodies from The Clash and The Smiths. Tim Cole is the bassist of the group, and Simon Whittaker is the drummer. RET features as the house band at the Southsea Jazz Club in Portsmouth, and have performed with luminaries of the UK jazz scene such as Dave O’Higgins, Alan Barnes, Johnny Mars, Gilad Atzmon, Giuliano Pereira, Roberto Manzin and Benn Clatworthy.
