Start time: 18:00 An evening of Sing along Sea Shanties and an incredible show by Bev Lee Harling. Who doesn’t love a night of Sea Shanty sing along classics? The Friday night of Battle’s Folk and Fable festival will open with a bang. Raucous songs and many tales of the sea. Performed by local legends Buoys and Gulls, this will be a fun evening for all. Preceding the Shanties, will be Bev Lee Harling performing her show ‘Ploughing the Salt Sea’ a brilliant and unique show of storytelling through music. This show had a sold out run at the Stables Theatre in Hastings. It is an autobiographical music theatre show, based on Bev’s ancestral links to the Hastings fishing community. Bev shares precious memories, real and imagined, which connect through the universal themes of secrecy, loss and finding your own voice. Truly not one to be missed.
