Life-saving equipment installed outside Waitrose
A new defibrillator that could help to save lives has been installed at Waitrose Storrington.
The fully automatic device, which provides simple audio instructions on using the equipment, has been mounted on a wall outside Waitrose. It means that members of the public have easy access to the defibrillator in the event of someone falling into cardiac arrest 24/7, while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
The defibrillator was funded by Waitrose Storrington and a number of its Partners (employees) are also specially trained in its use.
Waitrose Team Manager on installing defibrillator
Jez Willis, Team Manager at Waitrose Storrington, said: “We have lots of customers visiting our shop every day, and while we hope no one would ever find themselves in a situation where they would need the support of a defibrillator, we wanted to ensure access to this vital piece of equipment is readily available should it ever be needed.”
