Civil Service Retirement Group AGM

The Mid Sussex Civil Service Retirement Group and Friends had its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 19th January, which made it so their forthcoming years speakers and proposed outings started to take shape. As the re-elected Chairman Keith Sullens said, “After two extremely challenging years, we are anticipating an interesting 2022.”

The AGM was held prior to a post-Christmas lunch at The Cock Inn in Wivelsfield. This provided the opportunity for members to catch up after various lock downs and put forward ideas for future meetings and potential outings. Among the latter, a trip to the Bluebell Railway and outings to the National Trust locations of Sheffield Park and Wakehurst Place & Gardens.

Next group meeting activities and location

At the next meeting in February there will be a talk by Gilly Halcrow on “Whatever Happened to Christopher Robin”. Also planned are a Scrabble evening; “Replay” a band who specialise in 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music; and the Sheddingdean Strummers.

The group meets at the Bolnore room in Kings Church, Burgess Hill at 2.00pm; the next meeting is on Wednesday 16th February. Meetings usually finish about 4.00pm
