PDCCA Befriending & Visiting Service
Our Befriending and Visiting Service has a team of Volunteer Friends who meet or visit people in Pulborough and West Chiltington who are experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
Our Volunteer Friends make a huge difference to someone who spends most of their time alone simply by giving as little as 1 hour a week to visit someone lonely either in their home or to meet in the local community.
The people we support vary considerably in age, background, circumstances and interests and our Volunteer Friends are carefully matched to create lasting friendships that support and encourage them to find and join in with local activities and groups.
Our service is supported by Pulborough Medical Group and has created a steering group to help guide the project and this is chaired by Dr Tim Fooks (former High Sheriff) and includes the Senior Social Prescriber from Pulborough Medical Group and the Chair of Age UK West Sussex.
If you would like to join our team of Volunteer Friends (or help with Social Media or Marketing) and make a difference to someone in your local community, please contact Lynn on 07305 020595 or email [email protected] Lynn doesn’t work full time but if you leave her a message and she will get back to you as soon as she can.
