An application for a Recycling, Recovery and Renewable Energy Facility to be located at the Former Wealden Brickworks, north of Horsham, will be heard at the next meeting of West Sussex County Council’s Planning Committee.

Members of the public will need to apply for a ticket to attend the Planning Committee which will be held in the Council Chamber at County Hall, Chichester on Tuesday 19 June at 10.30am.

The application is being made by Britaniacrest Recycling Ltd which is seeking approval for the development of a Recycling, Resource and Renewable Energy Facility to sort, separate and process up to 230,000 tonnes of waste per annum.

Duncan Crow, Chairman of the County Council’s Planning Committee, said: “We appreciate that there is a high level of interest in this planning application and I would like to reassure everyone that we take our responsibility as a Waste Planning Authority very seriously, and that the committee will carefully consider all sides of the argument before making the final decision.”

Due to the high level of interest in this application, members of the public wishing to attend the meeting will need to apply for a ticket.

There are a maximum of 75 seats available in the public gallery and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You can apply for a ticket by emailing [email protected].

The meeting will also be webcast live and will be available to view for a period of six months after the event.
